This policy explains what personal information Sparq collects when you use sparqdesign.co.uk or get in touch, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Sparq Studio (“Sparq”, “we”, “us”) is a web design studio based in Bristol, UK. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For anything privacy-related, email hello@sparqdesign.co.uk.

2. What we collect

  • Enquiries. When you send our enquiry form we collect your name, email address, the subject you choose, your message and which page you sent it from.
  • Calls you book. When you book a call through our booking calendar we receive your name, email address, the time you choose and any notes you add.
  • Emails. If you email us, we keep the email and your contact details.
  • Analytics, if you allow it. With your consent, Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages visited, time on page, device and browser type, approximate location (city level) and how you found us. We can’t identify you from this.
  • Technical data. Like any website, our host and the services that deliver our code receive your IP address and browser details when you load a page, so they can deliver it securely.

We don’t collect sensitive (special category) data, and the site isn’t aimed at children.

3. How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry, hold discovery calls and send proposals, because you’ve asked us to (steps before entering a contract).
  • To deliver projects, send invoices and keep business records, to perform our contract with you and meet legal obligations.
  • To understand and improve the site, only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To keep the site secure and working, in our legitimate interest of running a reliable website.

We don’t sell your data, and we won’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Netlify: hosts the website and handles form submissions.
  • Google: Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Cal.com: runs our call booking calendar.
  • Our email provider: stores enquiry notifications and our emails with you.
  • Cloudflare (cdnjs): delivers some of the code behind the site’s animations.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

5. International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and call bookings that don’t become a project: up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Client records and invoices: 6 years after the project ends, as UK tax law requires.
  • Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct or delete it
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
  • ask for your data in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie settings

Email hello@sparqdesign.co.uk to use any of these rights. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month.

8. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

9. Cookies

We only set analytics cookies if you accept them. Our Cookies policy lists every cookie we use and how to change your choice.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
